Biography

Abdullah Moon Saleem is an Associate at Sutherland Law whose practice is focused on complex commercial and construction litigation. His work reflects the firm’s integrated approach to dispute resolution and regularly involves high-value contractual disputes, construction litigation, and matters involving sophisticated institutional stakeholders.

 

Abdullah conducts complex legal research and drafts a broad range of litigation materials in support of large and multifaceted disputes. He represents institutional developers, condominium corporations and management companies, and major construction companies in disputes arising from large-scale development and construction projects. In addition to institutional clients, Abdullah also represents individual clients and smaller businesses in civil and commercial litigation matters, providing practical and strategic advocacy tailored to each client’s needs.

 

Abdullah has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Small Claims Court and has contributed to matters before the Divisional Court on appeal. He has also participated in adjudication proceedings conducted through Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (ODACC) under the prompt payment and adjudication framework established by Ontario’s Construction Act. His experience with the statutory adjudication regime enables him to assist clients in efficiently resolving construction payment and performance disputes.

 

Abdullah attended the University of Toronto prior to pursuing is legal studies, where he earned placement on the Dean’s List. He subsequently completed his Juris Doctor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, where he was a member of the school’s inaugural class. During law school ,Abdullah completed the Integrated Practice Curriculum with the Department of Justice, gaining practical experience in government litigation and legaladvisory work. Prior to joining Sutherland Law, Abdullah practiced at a boutique litigation firm, where he developed experience in civil and commercial dispute resolution.

Outside of his professional practice, Abdullah is an accomplished martial artist who holds three black belts and has won multiple national tournaments. He is also an avid equestrian, competing in polo matches, and enjoys travelling and golfing. In addition, Abdullah is a dedicated collector of fine designer timepieces, including Rolex watches.
