Biography

Hussam received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. During law school, he served as a student caseworker in the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinical Program, providing legal services to early-stage emerging technology companies. He also competed in various legal competitions in advocacy, negotiation, and arbitration, earning recognition as a semi-finalist and receiving an award in a moot competition.

Hussam completed both a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (General) with a Finance Specialization and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering (Honours) with a Management Sciences Option at the University of Waterloo. Prior to law school, he worked as a finance professional in Toronto, focusing on capital markets and risk management, where he helped optimize profits and mitigate risk at top financial institutions.

He articled at a regional law firm in Guelph, gaining experience in civil litigation, municipal law, and land use planning.

Outside of work, Hussam enjoys weightlifting, playing ping pong, and cooking. He draws inspiration from cooking shows and enjoys trying new recipes and exploring diverse cuisines.
