
Biography
Jawad is an associate at Sutherland Law and practices litigation, with a focus on construction and commercial litigation, as well as real estate law. He received his law degree with Honours from the University of Birmingham, specializing in business and commercial law. During law school, Jawad actively contributed to Birmingham Law School's Pro Bono Group, serving as a facilitator with both the Commercial Legal Advice Clinic and the Entrepreneurship and Law Clinic.
Prior to joining Sutherland Law, Jawad articled and practiced law as an associate at a boutique firm in litigation and real estate with an emphasis on litigation and real estate. At Sutherland Law, Jawad routinely appears at various levels of the Superior Court of Justice in Ontario and represents clients in a broad range of commercial and construction lien disputes, including contractual and corporate-related matters.
Jawad’s passion for entrepreneurship, business, and the law is reflected in his diverse experiences, which includes co-founding startups in the fashion and retail industry, and collaborating with the Legal Innovation Zone to develop a legal-tech solution designed to support self-represented litigants in navigating through the civil justice system.
Outside of his legal practice, Jawad enjoys playing football (soccer) and has competed in national and international tournaments; he is also a dedicated Arsenal supporter and has a keen interest in perfumery and travel.
